Disney’s Animal Kingdom, located at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, is a one-of-a-kind theme park that blends the magic of Disney with the wonders of the natural world. Since its opening, it has become a must-visit destination for families, nature lovers, and thrill-seekers alike.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened on 22 April 1998 – fittingly, on Earth Day.
The aim of the park was to create a theme park that celebrated wildlife and conservation. Animal Kingdom was designed around the theme of nature, animals, and conservation, setting it apart from other Disney parks. It has a very different feel to any of the other Disney parks.
With an emphasis on education, storytelling, and sustainability, Disney’s Animal Kingdom was the largest Disney theme park at the time of its opening, covering over 500 acres.
Animal Kingdom is currently undergoing some changes, with several of the attractions now closed, or closing to make way for new adventures.

Conservation & Sustainability
Animal Kingdom is not just entertainment—it’s also dedicated to wildlife conservation. Through the Disney Conservation Fund, the park supports global efforts to protect endangered species and habitats.
Fun Facts & Recognition

The park is home to over 2,000 animals representing 300 species.
